Send A Kid To Camp Midicha Scholarship Campaign
ADA Camp Midicha is a lifeline for children with diabetes to develop the critical skills needed to thrive while managing Type 1 diabetes. Attending summer camp helps children develop social skills, self-respect and life-long friendships. Kids have the opportunity to meet other kids just like them while fostering independence, building self-confidence and gaining an awareness of a healthy lifestyle through education, nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being and glucose control.
Diabetes Camp Winter Family Retreat
The Diabetes Camp Winter Family Retreat offers a special, family bonding experience while celebrating and learning more about your child’s diabetes. Physicians will be there to educate parents about diabetes management, upcoming trends and overall health and wellness. Children will be able to enjoy all sorts of winter activities while enjoying a winter weekend at a YMCA camp.
Slam Dunk for Diabetes
Slam Dunk for Diabetes® Basketball Camp targets low-income children who could not otherwise afford to attend. In 2019, we are bringing 2 clinics to Michigan (Detroit & Kalamazoo) with NBA coaches participating.
Type 1 Adult Meet Ups / “Ask The Endo”
Type 1 Adult Meet Ups occur throughout Metro Detroit and beyond with the sole purpose of providing a community for those adults with T1D. Informal learning is very important. Throw an endocrinologist in the mix from time to time and who knows what one can learn.
